Milwaukee Hackzall – Cordless Power Hack Saw
Posted on November 20, 2008To the handyman or professional, nothing beats a tool that is versatile and easy to use. The Milwaukee M12 Hackzall cordless reciprocating saw is one of those tools that fills a need for such a tool.
The Hackzall is a portable, cordless and lightweight reciprocating saw that can easily be used with one hand. In fact, it is designed for single hand operation and easily fits into tight spaces. It even includes a built-in LED work light for working in areas that are not well lit. The Hackzall has a variable speed motor and a 1/2 inch cutting stroke at up to 3,000 strokes per minute. The speed is controlled by a variable speed trigger.
It is powered by a rechargeable 12 volt Lithium-Ion battery. There is a Battery Fuel Gauge that displays the remaining run-time on the battery. The Hackzall charges in 30 minutes. Additional battey packs are available. We always like to have a spare battery pack so that we have extra power for big jobs.
This is a real nice tool for remodeling, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, irrigation piping or just about anything that you would normally do with a hacksaw. The Milwaukee Hackzall can use standard Sawzall reciprocating saw blades, but Milwaukee does make a special four-inch blade that is thinner and gives a more accurate cut. The Milwaukee keyless QUIK-LOK⢠blade clamp allows for quick and easy blade changes.
At 2.6 pounds, the Hackzall is easy to use and easy to get into tight spaces with the specially designed handle.
This is an impressive tool and a nice bargain at less than $200 for a quality cordless reciprocating saw from Milwaukee, one of the most respected power tool manufacturers in the business. It is also a great best gadget gift for any home handyman or professional.
